Christophe Delaire confirmed as CEO of MDA Australia

MEDIA RELEASE

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – 10 JUNE 2022 – Last week, Marshall Day Acoustics Pty Ltd (MDA) announced that Christophe Delaire has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of MDA Australia. For the last 5 years, Christophe has been co-CEO, alongside Amanda Robinson, who is leaving MDA later this month to relocate to Canada.

Chairman of the MDA Board, Sumith Perera, said he was delighted that Christophe had agreed to step into the role as CEO.

“On behalf of the Board, I thank and congratulate Christophe and Amanda for the great job that they have done as co-CEOs. It is a slightly unconventional model but it has served MDA well and ensured that we had strong leadership, particularly through some challenging times with COVID. They have worked so well together, and the ways of working that they have established, and the leadership team they have around them, mean that there is a strong foundation for Christophe to step into the role of CEO.

“I sincerely thank Amanda for her dedication to MDA over her last 17 years with the company. She has worked on and led some truly landmark projects, and we will miss her extraordinary skills in acoustic design, especially in the educational sector, as well as her leadership skills. I wish her well as she embarks on this exciting new chapter,” said Sumith.

Christophe graduated with a Masters’ degree in Engineering from Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Poitiers (France) in 2001 and joined Marshall Day Acoustics the following year. Over the past 20 years, Christophe has gained an international reputation for excellence in the field of environmental acoustics. In particular, his expertise in wind farms has made him a leading expert in the renewable energy sector. He has been called upon to present evidence at numerous legal hearings and has delivered insightful papers at international wind turbine noise conferences.

He says that he remains passionate about delivering the best solutions for MDA’s clients and never compromising on acoustic design.

“It has been an honour to work alongside Amanda as co-CEO for the past 5 years. I would like to thank Amanda for partnering with me to ensure MDA has continued to be recognised as a leader in the industry. I wish Amanda well as she embarks on a new journey.

“I look forward to continuing to lead MDA into the future, building on our success as a leadership team and harnessing the skills of our amazingly talented and committed team to grow the company and maintain our high level of service to our clients.”

Amanda also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead MDA alongside Christophe.

“I'm so grateful and humbled to have had the opportunity to lead this organisation for the past 5 years and to work with some wonderful people. I want to thank our clients for your support of Marshall Day Acoustics, and for the opportunities afforded to us. Together, we have delivered many truly great projects, and it has been a pleasure to work with you and alongside you. I feel confident I’m leaving the company in great hands with Christophe,” Amanda said.

Amanda and Christophe will continue as co-CEOs of MDA until 17 June, when Christophe will step into his role as CEO.
